To ensure that your pasta absorbs the flavour of the sauce, toss the cooked pasta immediately after draining the water. Cooked pasta absorbs flavour best when hot. 

Jeera (cumin seed) Kashaya

Ingredients

  • Cumin Seeds – 2 Tablespoons
  • Butter – ½ Teaspoon
  • Water – 2 Glasses (400ml)
  • Salt – to taste

Method

  • Pre-heat the pan and put 1 tablespoon of cumin seeds.
  • When it starts to splutter, add water and the remaining cumin seeds to the pan and boil till the water content is reduced to half.
  • Strain it and add butter and salt and consume it like a soup.

  • It is an excellent remedy to cure stomach ache due to gas and also to prevent false labour or false pain.
  • You can consume this Kashaya whenever you feel pain or uneasiness. If it is false pain, then it will subside immediately.
  • This concoction is normally given during the second semester of pregnancy. IJeera (Cumin) has several medicinal benefits including the ability to stimulate lactation (mother’s milk) and reduce pregnancy related nausea.The best time to consume this drink is first thing in the morning or after dinner in the night. Usually consumed during the pre natal period (before delivery), it can be had even after delivery as it aids lactation.
