TIP OF THE WEEK

To ensure that your pasta absorbs the flavour of the sauce, toss the cooked pasta immediately after draining the water. Cooked pasta absorbs flavour best when hot.

GOOD TO KNOW

      1. Tomato is a storehouse of folic acid and vitamin B12required to build new red blood cells of the mother and child.
      2. Vit C in tomatoes helps form healthy bones, teeth and gums. It also assists in the absorption of iron, which is of special concern during pregnancy, as pregnant women generally have higher iron needs.
Lycopene during pregnancyTomatoes are rich in lycopene, an antioxidant that can protect against cell damage. While it is safe for pregnant women to eat foods that contain lycopene, the safety of lycopene supplements while expecting is not clear. So it is safer to steer clear of lycopene supplements during pregnancy.
